Erect, tall (to 6 feet) perennial, bearing white spires from mid-summer to early Autumn. A North American native, this plant occurs naturally in open woodland and prairie grasslands, so does well in both full sun and partial shade. Moderately good soil and moist.


A tall (36 - 72 inches) imposing plant from the prairies and open woodland of North America. Bears upright to drooping lavender to mauve spikes from mid-Summer to Autumn.

From prairies and open woodlad of North America. Tall wands of dense flowers adding lift and elegance to the back of the Summer border. Pale-pink flowers in August to Serptember. Best in rich moist soil in full sun or light shade.32 - 72 inches.
